Sautéed Cabbage with Chicken Sausage is a great simple, but tasty recipe.Cabbage, onions and smoked chicken sausage sautéed together for an easy one-pot meal  full of texture and savory flavors. I had it on the table in 30 minutes! So easy and so delicious!

Smoked chicken sausage is one of my favorite things to always have on hand in my refrigerator. It has a ton of flavor and can be used in a variety of dishes.  It’s perfect for a quick meal, but holds up well to longer cooking times too. My family and I are so used to chicken sausage that we actually prefer it. Once you add the cabbage, you’re really just cooking it until the cabbage is done to your liking. Although we usually prefer our vegetables cooked through, we like cabbage to have a little texture to it. I cook mine for about five minutes, stirring it every minute or so.

Did you know that the inexpensive, humble, and widely used cabbage can practically work miracles? Cabbage is a leafy vegetable of the Brassica family. It’s beneficial in curing various health ailments and is an abundant source of Vitamin C. You might be surprised to know that it is actually richer in vitamin C than oranges, which is traditionally considered the “best” source of that vital nutrient. Vitamin C, one of the best antioxidants, reduces free radicals in your body that are one of the fundamental causes of premature aging. Therefore, cabbage is very helpful in treating ulcers, certain cancers, depression, immune system boosting, and defending against cough and cold. It can serve as an aid if you are suffering from constipation, stomach ulcers, headaches, obesity, skin disorders, arthritis, aging, Alzheimer’s disease and so much more.

I usually cook Cabbage twice a month but after researching all the health benefits of this delicious leafy vegetable, I’m increasing our consumption of cabbage to every week!

Don’t forget to learn something new every day!
