Thanksgiving Side Dishes

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and here are two of my favorite Thanksgiving Side Dishes recipes! Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and let’s be honest, a time to eat!  My family would boycott Thanksgiving if I didn’t make my Southern Seafood Stuffingand this is my first time making Ruth Chris’s Sweet Potato Casserole. Both have earned the right to be on my list of favorite side dishes.  Do yourself and your family a favor and add both to your Thanksgiving dinner menu. We love the big meal and we like to have lots of it!  Usually, the main dish is turkey or ham but there can be quite a variety with all those side dishes.

Southern Seafood Stuffing is full of shrimp, crab and oyster and lots of onion, celery, and garlic. This Southern Seafood Stuffing has a warm, savory flavor it’s a delicious way to bring coastal flavors to the holiday table, or just a great dish to enjoy anytime! I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about adding seafood to a casserole that makes it seem more special and elegant. This is always a much looked forward to side dish at Thanksgiving. I use a combination of herb seasoned stuffing mix and cornbread stuffing mix because I think it produces the best flavor. You could us all one or the other if you wish and I change it up from year to year.

I don’t know about you, but my favorite part of Thanksgiving is the stuffing, or dressing as Southerners call it. The cornbread mix, shrimp, crab and oyster give this Southern Seafood Stuffing a subtle sweetness that is so good. I add Cajun seasoning for flavor and also a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup to help bind it and keep it moist.

Stuffing in a Bundt Pan –An easy and beautiful way to prepare your Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipe! Use one of our stuffing recipes, or use your favorite stuffing recipe to create this gorgeous tasty centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. Since stuffing happens to be my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner, I think it’s important that your stuffing recipe gets the proper amount of respect and attention this year.

The next amazing Thanksgiving side recipe is this Ruth’s Chris Sweet Potato Casserole which is a copycat of the restaurant version. It’s a layer of creamy sweet potatoes that’s topped with the most delicious brown sugar and pecan streusel. This sweet potato casserole is perfect for your holiday meals!

This Sweet Potato Casserole is a must-have for my family for all of the holidays. This version from Ruth’s Chris Steak House is one of the best I’ve ever had. That crunchy topping is just fabulous when paired with sweet potatoes. This one will become a holiday tradition in your house as it has in mine.

Once you try Ruth’s Chris sweet potato casserole, you’ll be hooked! I can’t ever take this off our holiday menu, my family would be so upset if I did. I don’t really blame them, I love it too!
