Cinco de Mayo Margarita

I love my Cinco de Mayo Margarita recipe!

Cinco de Mayo is quickly approaching just like everything else.  Time seems to be moving faster and faster.  Hold on – it’s like a roller coaster ride. You can either enjoy it or get sick! Hey, I haven’t been crazy about fast rides since my teenage years but I’m gonna enjoy the ride since I can’t slow it down anyway!

I love a good excuse to throw a party and Cinco de Mayo (which is May 5th) is all about celebrating Mexican food and culture. Let’s start with Margaritas, which I believe are some of the best cocktails in the world, as there are so many different versions!

Ali in the Valley’s Margarita Recipe is one of my best! I got this recipe from one of my mentors in the music business and have claimed it as my own (with a few changes of course). Since I’ve been on the grind this year and not drinking hard liquor, I haven’t really indulged much. But heck, I gotta celebrate Cinco de Mayo the right way with my amazing margaritas!

Let’s kick it off with Ali in the Valley’s Margarita!

Ingredients

1 can of frozen limeade (not lemonade)

3/4 can (see below) of tequila (Reposado Hornitos 100% puro de agave)

1/4 can of Cointreau (not generic triple sec)

ice fresh basil leaves or mint for garnish

Directions

In blender add 1 can of limeade then use the can from the limeade and pour 3/4 can full of tequila add 1/4 can full of cointreau and plenty ice and blend.

Pour into margarita glass and add a basil leave for garnish.
