Ways to be Physically Active Without a Workout

These days it can be harder and harder to be physically active. From COVID shutting down gyms, to having to wear a mask when you do go, it can be very difficult to get a work out in if you do not have an at-home gym. And sometimes, you just don’t feel like a whole workout.

I wanted to share with you a few ways you can get in a few minutes of physical activity each day without the hassle of a whole workout.

  1. Take a hike.

In California, and elsewhere, there are so many beautiful mountains to walk through. Take an hour or so one day just to explore your area on foot.

  1. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Walking the stairs a few times a day can do wonders to get your heart pumpin’!

  1. Take a walk around your neighborhood, or even walk on the beach.

Walking around your neighborhood can be a fun and peaceful way to get some physical activity in. My favorite thing to do on walks is find beautiful flowers and take phone camera photos with them. It’s a great activity to make walks more fun!

Walking around the beach can be its own kind of peaceful, with the waves as your music you can do a quick powerwalk on the beach.

  1. Clean your house.

I know this isn’t a fun one, but scrubbing the counters and floors are an awesome way to get some blood flow throughout your body. And at the end of it, you get to have a clean house!

  1. Take an online dance class or just dance.

Dance can be such a great way to get some physical movement in your body. Sign up for an online class, or just turn some music up and dance like nobody’s watching!

You’ll burn a few calories and get a mood boost at the same time.

Being physically active can be a chore sometimes, but it doesn’t have to be. Use any of the tips above for hassle-free, blood pumpin’ activities. Your body will thank ya later 😉
