Spooky Apple Martini:

Happy October means Happy Halloween in my house. On October 1st,our kids were so excited that halloween was near! These two don’t mess around and constantly remind me that it’s time to get all our halloween decorations out and up which they are.  Then it’s time to visit the pumpkin patch and get ready for a month of spooky fun which includes the Halloween train at Travel Town, Knott’s Scary Farm and don’t forget Underwood’s Farm in Ventura County.  I have to confess, I love halloween just as much as they do,  because it’s the beginning of the holiday season! What I love most about halloween is it’s just an excuse to party for the pure pleasure of partying. Eating great food like pumpkin soup, turkey chili, pumpkin pie and allowing myself and my kids to pig out on candy! We live in great neighborhood where most of the time everyone keeps to themselves but on halloween evening everyone decorates their homes and we all come together visiting each other from house to house sharing food, drinks and candy! It’s the one time of year that no matter what religion or nationality we all come together and have a laugh and camaraderie for our neighborhood.  It’s our annual community harvest festival in costumes!

I’m gearing up for lots of fun and recipes for halloween and the holidays!
